The opening sequence moves rapidly through several substantial stories. “The Blood-Soaked Fairy” uses illness, bodily examination, coercion, and a triangular relationship to construct a medicalized fantasy of pain and desire. “The Ugly Woman’s Debauchery” shifts to a grotesque revenge narrative involving social exclusion, violence, and domination. “A Chronicle of Menstrual-Blood Obsession” and “The Blood Needle of Delusion” continue the issue’s emphasis on blood as both physical substance and symbolic medium, connecting it to dreams, voyeurism, abnormal desire, piercing, and ritualized bodily experience.

The middle of the issue broadens into cultural commentary and serialized miscellany. “Erotic-Music Rhapsody” discusses music, performers, and sexual reputation, while “Fūryū Apartment” presents comic and erotic episodes from modern communal living. “A Brief Explanation of the Tale of Suetsumuhana” revisits a classical literary figure through an irreverent modern lens. Other sections examine erotic pictures, practical sexual knowledge, actresses, political scandals, foreign travel, Parisian nightlife, performers, and postwar popular culture. These essays create a magazine world in which literary history, gossip, pseudo-science, and urban anecdote sit beside explicit fiction.

The later portion returns to longer fetish narratives. “The Teased Breasts” centers on breast fixation and coercive handling; “A Gruesome Picture of a Male Prostitute” treats male sexuality, social degradation, and bodily exploitation; “A Curse Binding Soft, Beautiful Skin” places erotic punishment within a history of cruelty; and “Kissing Sadism” transforms courtship into an escalating scene of domination. The all-women roundtable gives the issue a conversational, confessional register, while the final stories explore humiliation, excremental fetishism, pornography, bodily odor, mutilation, and grotesque transformation.

Throughout, Fūzoku Sōshi blends pulp entertainment with the rhetoric of ethnography, criminology, medicine, literary commentary, and reader education. Its concluding pages maintain this mixture rather than narrowing to a single genre, leaving the issue as a dense postwar compendium of erotic fantasy, abnormal-sex discourse, popular scholarship, and illustrated sensationalism.
