Its opening pages establish the issue’s visual vocabulary through dramatic illustrations of confinement, abduction, punishment, foot worship, military defeat, and threatened violence. The prose section opens with Abe Storie’s “Honor Student of the Slave Academy,” a long satirical fantasy about a secret school where women are trained through humiliation, discipline, forced labor, and elaborate punishments before being sold into servitude. The sixteenth installment of “Thirty-Nine Strange Nights” follows, presenting historical and comparative reflections on impalement, torture, execution, and artificial gestation. Subsequent essays move between public-policy commentary and intensely personal fetish writing, including discussion of child-welfare censorship, a confession centered on riding and equestrian imagery, and a long science-fiction narrative, “Somewhere in the Universe,” that relocates coercion, captivity, and hierarchical sexuality to an imagined world.

The middle of the issue mixes memoir, fiction, and specialized fetish studies. Subjects include bath-related nostalgia, leaving an oppressive domestic environment, female acrobatics, circus discipline, punishment memoirs, women’s wrestling, biographies of forceful women, washing and laundry fantasies, pack-horse role play, corporate authority, and the erotic meaning of uniforms and bodily restraint. Several pieces adopt the form of first-person confession, allowing contributors to frame unusual desires through memories of childhood, workplaces, hospitals, theater, family life, or encounters with performers.

Later sections include reflections on newspaper imagery, a report on photographing a bound model, correspondence, reader rankings, questionnaires, club information, advertisements, editorial notices, and publication data. The issue’s identity emerges from the dialogue between visual spectacle and reader testimony: bondage is treated not merely as an isolated fantasy, but as a field linking literature, photography, social commentary, historical punishment, gendered authority, and a participatory community of correspondents.
