Summary
The surviving February 1961 Fuzoku Kitan material is dominated by an unusually extensive bondage-photography section, preceded by a formal contents page that reveals a much broader editorial program of sadomasochistic fiction, cross-dressing confession, homosexuality, masochism, erotic illustration, and reader-oriented features. The photographic material explores restraint as both erotic spectacle and visual composition, moving between clothed and nude models, interiors and outdoor settings, and increasingly elaborate arrangements of rope, furniture, trees, poles, and architectural space.
The opening photographic sequence, Aware, Bound Sorrow, features model Nishimaki Eriko in a patterned dress slipping away from the body while rope crosses the chest and binds the arms behind the back. The images alternate between reclining, seated, and kneeling poses, emphasizing facial expression and the contrast between patterned clothing and coarse rope. The next sequence shifts outdoors with model Kazahaya Yumiko in a sailor-style school uniform. Under headings including Shigarazuya and The Sadness of the Uniform, she is bound on a wooden veranda and among trees, turning the school uniform into a central element of the captivity fantasy.
The middle and later gravure pages move toward greater nudity and more explicit concentration on rope placement. Rope Biting the Breasts shows a fuller-bodied model crouched outdoors while rope passes around the upper torso. Rope-Writhing Poses and Captive Nude Form return to tatami interiors and combine gagging, wrist restraint, torso rope, and bound ankles. Outdoor Bound Woman uses large tree trunks as both restraint points and compositional frames. Crucifixion Binding is particularly distinctive, showing a standing woman spread between horizontal poles with wrists and ankles secured and additional rope gradually added around the torso and legs. Before the Round Window and Hallway Outrage integrate driftwood-like objects and interior architecture into the bondage tableaux, while the final feature, Ravishing Full-Nude Binding, concentrates again on kneeling nude poses and upper-body rope.
The formal contents page also advertises substantial prose and illustrated material not present in the surviving photographic sequence, including a first-person account of cross-dressing life, essays or stories about male homosexuality and masochism, the recurring Letters of a Masochist, a collection of female punishment illustrations, and a special selection of whipping and torment fiction. These listings demonstrate that the issue's larger editorial identity extended beyond kinbaku photography into confession, fetish subculture, erotic fiction, punishment fantasy, and reader exchange. Within the surviving pages, however, the dominant achievement is visual: a sustained catalog of early-1960s bondage posing that treats rope, costume, nudity, posture, and setting as mutually reinforcing elements of erotic image-making.
Highlights
Aware, Bound Sorrow opens the gravure section with Nishimaki Eriko restrained in a patterned dress, using progressive disrobing, upper-body rope, and shifting kneeling and reclining poses to establish the issue's visual language.
Shigarazuya and The Sadness of the Uniform place Kazahaya Yumiko in a sailor-style school uniform and bind her on an outdoor wooden structure, combining costume fetishism with public or semi-public captivity imagery.
Rope Biting the Breasts centers on a fuller-bodied model crouching outdoors while rope crosses and compresses the upper torso, making the interaction between rope and anatomy the explicit subject of the feature.

Rope-Writhing Poses presents a gagged and bound woman on tatami, emphasizing physical struggle through tightly folded floor poses and multiple bands of restraint.
Captive Nude Form combines kneeling, reclining, gagged, and ankle-bound positions in a Japanese interior, shifting the gravure from suggestive partial dress toward nearly complete nudity.
Outdoor Bound Woman places a nude restrained model between large tree trunks, using the dark vertical forms of the trees to frame and partially conceal the body.
Crucifixion Binding documents a standing spread-eagle restraint using horizontal poles at the wrists and ankles, with successive photographs showing additional rope added around the torso and legs.
Before the Round Window uses a large piece of sculptural driftwood or root wood as a heavy visual prop beside the bound model, creating one of the issue's most theatrical interior compositions.
Hallway Outrage presents a woman bound on a wooden corridor or veranda, contrasting sparse architectural lines with torso and limb restraint.
Ravishing Full-Nude Binding closes the surviving gravure with a series of kneeling nude poses in which rope encircles the upper arms and chest while the model twists against the restraint.

Analysis Notes
PDF page 1 is a formal contents page headed Fuzoku Kitan, February 1961. It lists both the gravure material represented on PDF pages 2–21 and numerous prose, fiction, illustration, correspondence, and fetish-culture features whose article pages are not included in this surviving file. For those absent contents-listed items, PDF page 1 is used only as a positive contents-page anchor so that their absence is not mistaken for an observed article location. The gravure sequence itself is continuous from PDF pages 2–21. Several contributor names printed in very small type on the contents page are difficult to romanize with certainty; provisional readings are identified in the relevant notes.
