厳重な小包の紐を切り、中をひろげると、プンと甘ずっぱい匂いが溢れて来た。まだ新しいパンティが一着包まれていたのだ。それと角封筒の手紙、水色のレター・ペーパーに次のように書かれている。

「お約束のものお送り致します、お会い出来る迄、これを私とお思いになって下さい。恥しいのですけど、汚れたままお送りします、隆子」
